Pregnancy: There are no adequate data from the use of linezolid in pregnant women. Studies in animals have shown reproductive toxicity.
Linezolid should not be used during pregnancy unless clearly necessary i.e. only if the potential benefit outweighs the theoretical risk.
Lactation: Available pharmacodynamic/toxicological data in animals have shown excretion of linezolid/metabolites in milk.
Breast-feeding should be discontinued during treatment with linezolid.
Fertility: In animal studies, linezolid caused a reduction in fertility.
