Moxifloxacin HCl
Indications/Uses
Bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains of aerobic gm +ve microorganisms, aerobic gm -ve microorganisms & other microorganisms (Chlamydia trachomatis).
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop in the affected eye tid for 7 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or to other quinolones.
Special Precautions
Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi. Discontinue use & institute alternative therapy if superinfection occurs. Examine patient w/ aid of magnification (eg, slit-lamp biomicroscopy) whenever clinical judgment dictates & where appropriate, fluorescein staining. Advise patients to not wear contact lenses if they have signs & symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis. Pregnancy & lactation.
