Description
Each 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) contains: Metoclopramide (as hydrochloride) 5 mg.
Indications/Uses
Used in the management of nausea and vomiting associated with various gastrointestinal disorders, dyspepsia and disorders of decreased gastrointestinal motility.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) three times daily, or as prescribed by the physician.
Children 9-14 years (30 kg and over): 5 mg three times daily or as prescribed by the physician.
Contraindications
History of seizures, peptic ulcer disease and pheochromocytoma.
Special Precautions
Patients with renal impairment, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease or history of depression. Risk of tardive dyskinesia. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery.
Adverse Reactions
Adverse effects include restlessness, drowsiness, headache and diarrhea. Extrapyramidal symptoms like acute dystonic reactions, Parkinsonian syndrome and galactorrhoea due to increased prolactin secretion may also occur.
Storage
Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
