Ingredients (Flavour Cappucino): Water, maltodextrin, isomaltulose, vegetable oils (rapeseed oil, sunflower oil), tapioca dextrin, milk protein, medium chain triglycerides (MCT), emulsifiers (E 471, soya lecithin), flavouring, sodium citrate, fish oil (with soya lecithin), choline hydrogen tartrate, potassium chloride, potassium citrate, vit. C, magnesium oxide, myo-inositol, taurine, acidity regulator (E 524), l-carnitine, iron pyrophosphate, zinc sulphate, niacin, pantothenic acid, manganese chloride, vit. E, vit. B6, sodium fluoride, copper sulphate, vit. B2, vit. B1, β-carotene, folic acid, vit. A, sodium selenite, biotin, potassium iodide, sodium molybdate, vit. K1, chromium chloride, vit. B12, vit. D3.
Indications/Uses
Tailored for impaired renal function.
2 kcal/mL, low protein sip feed reduced in electrolytes for the dietary management in case or at risk of malnutrition, esp. conservatively treated patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) or non-catabolic forms of acute kidney injury.
Formulated according to KDOQI guidelines for renal patients.
Low protein (6 energy %) from high quality milk protein to aid adherence to a low protein diet recommended for CKD.
Modified carbohydrate profile: Low glycemic index for optimised glucose control in renal patients with impaired glucose metabolism.
Modified fat profile: high in monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), high in n-3 LCPUFA and with EPA/DHA from fish oil according to KDOQI guidelines.
Food for special medical purposes.
For the dietary management in case/risk of malnutrition, esp. with chronic kidney disease or non-catabolic forms of acute kidney injury. Nutritionally complete, high energy (2 kcal/ml) oral nutritional supplement and tube feed, with fibre. Reduced protein (6 energy %) and electrolytes sodium, potassium, phosphorus. With fish oil. With slow release carbohydrates. Clinically free from lactose, gluten free.
Dosage/Direction for Use
2-3 bottles/day for supplementary nutrition or ≥5 bottles/day for complete nutrition, or as advised by a healthcare professional.
Special Precautions
To be used under medical supervision. Monitor feeding rate when used for tube feeding. Suitable as sole source of nutrition. Not suitable for children <3 years. Use with caution in children <6 years. Not suitable in case of galactosaemia.
Additional Considerations: Not suitable whenever enteral nutrition is not permitted such as in acute gastrointestinal bleeding, ileus and shock. Use with caution in severe organ failure with impaired metabolism and severe forms of malassimilation.
Not suitable for patients with congenital inability to metabolise nutrients contained in Fresubin RENAL.
Caution For Usage
Instruction for use: If used as Drink: Best served chilled. Shake well before use.
If used for tube feeding: do not mix with drugs. Not for parenteral (I.V.) use.
Storage
At room temperature. Once opened refrigerate and use within 24 hours.
