Fexuprazan HCl
Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult Erosive esophagitis 40 mg once daily for 4 wk. Given for another 4 wk in patients w/ untreated esophagitis or persisting symptoms.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients taking atazanavir, nelfinavir or rilpivirine containing drugs. Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
Hypersensitivity. Confirm malignancy of tumour prior to administration. Increased risk of GI tract infection. Risk for osteoporosis-related fractures of the hip, wrist or spine in patients receiving high-doses & long-term therapy (≥1 yr). Monitor Mg levels prior to treatment & periodically for patients on prolonged treatment or medications drugs that cause hypomagnesemia (eg, diuretics). May cause false +ve results in diagnostic investigations for neuroendocrine tumors. Hepatic or renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Indigestion, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, gastritis, chronic or erosive gastritis; erythema; headache; low back pain.
Drug Interactions
May reduce bioavailability w/ atazanavir & nelfinavir.
