Feliz S 10/Feliz S 20 Dosage/Direction for Use

Escitalopram Oxalate (Feliz S) should be administered once daily, in the morning or evening, with or without food.
Major Depressive Disorder: Initial Treatment: Adolescents: The recommended dose of Escitalopram is 10 mg once daily. If the dose is increased to 20 mg, this should occur after a minimum of three weeks.
Adults: The recommended dose of Escitalopram is 10 mg once daily. If the dose is increased to 20 mg, this should occur after a minimum of one week.
General Anxiety Disorder: Initial Treatment: The recommended dose of Escitalopram is 10 mg once daily. If the dose is increased to 20 mg, this should occur after a minimum of one week.
Special Populations: An initial dose of 5 mg daily for the first two weeks of treatment is recommended dose for most elderly patients and patients with hepatic impairment. Depending on individual patient response, the dose may be increased to 10 mg/day. No dosage adjustments are necessary for patients with mild or moderate renal impairment. Escitalopram should be used with caution in patients with severe renal impairment.
Panic disorder with or without agoraphobia: An initial dose of 5 mg is recommended for the first week before increasing the dose to 10 mg daily. The dose may be increased up to a maximum of 20 mg daily, dependent on individual patient response.
Switching Patients To or From a Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor: At least 14 days should elapse between discontinuation of a MAOI and inhibition of Escitalopram before starting a MAOI.

Withdrawal: Escitalopram should be withdrawn gradually to reduce the risk of withdrawal symptoms.
