This preparation consists of a suspension of spores of Bacillus clausii which are normal non-pathogenic inhabitants of intestine.
Each 5 mL oral suspension mini bottle contains: Spores of poly antibiotic resistant: Bacillus clausii 2 billion, Purified water IP q.s.
Pharmacology: Mechanism of action: Immunomodulatory action on gut lymphoid tissue.
Secretion of antimicrobial compounds to suppress pathogens.
Exclusion of GI pathogens through competitive adherence to the gut wall.
Adherence to gut wall and subsequent colonization of the mucosa.
Bacillus clausii spores help restore intestinal balance, protect against harmful microorganisms, and alleviate symptoms like diarrhea, particularly when caused by antibiotics of infections.
Food supplement for the alterations of intestinal flora.
Adults: 2-3 mini bottles/day or as suggested by the physician.
Children: 1-2 mini bottles/day or as suggested by the physician.
Infants: 1-2 mini bottles/day or as suggested by the physician.
There have not been any reported clinical manifestations caused by an overdose.
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. Use only for a short period of treatment.
During antibiotic therapy, the product should be administered in the interval between doses of antibiotic.
Administer by prescription and under medical supervision.
No adverse effects have been reported.
There are no known food or drug interactions with Bacillus clausii spores.
Instructions before taking the medicine: Shake the mini bottle from the pack.
Check its integrity before opening. Shake well before use. Break the head of the mini bottle towards both sides, then twist off opening and squeeze to drink.
Instructions on how to take the medicine: Take the contents as it is (or) can be diluted in water, fresh juice, lukewarm milk/tea.
Once opened, the content should be consumed immediately to avoid contamination of the suspension.
Store at room temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep in dry place and protect from light. Do not freeze.
Shelf Life: Un-opened mini bottles of Elixiflora are stable for a period of 24 months.
