Adverse Reactions
Reported adverse reactions with the use of topical steroids include burning, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis and acneiform eruptions. Side effects seen more frequently with occlusive dressing include maceration, skin atrophy, striae and miliaria. Gentamicin may produce transient irritation that usually does not require discontinuation of treatment. Reported adverse reactions with the use of topical clotrimazole include erythema, stinging, blistering, peeling, edema, pruritus, urticaria and general irritation of the skin.
