Butamirate citrate.

Description

Each 5mL contains: Butamirate Citrate 7.5 mg.
Each sustained release tablet contains: Butamirate Citrate 50 mg.
Butamirate citrate is a cough suppressant used in non-productive cough and stated to have a central action.

Indications/Uses

For cough suppressant in non-productive cough. For acute cough of any etiology, pre and post-op cough sedation for surgical procedures and bronchoscopy.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Sustained Release Tablet: Adult: 2-3 tablets daily at 8 or 12 hour intervals. Adolescent >12 years old: 1-2 tablets daily.
To be swallowed whole.
Syrup: Adults: 1 tablespoonful (15 mL) 4 times a day. Children over 3 years old: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times a day.
Children over 6 years old: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times a day.
Children over 12 years old: 1 tablespoonful (15 mL) 3 times a day.

Pregnancy & lactation.

Storage

Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.
