Safe use of Loratadine + Betamethasone (Claricort) during pregnancy has not been established.
There are no or limited amount of data from the use of Loratadine + Betamethasone (Claricort) in pregnant women. Studies in animals have shown reproductive toxicity with betamethasone. Therefore, Loratadine + Betamethasone (Claricort) is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Infants born of mothers who have received substantial doses of corticosteroids during pregnancy should be observed carefully for signs of hypoadrenalism.
Since loratadine and betamethasone are excreted in breast milk, infant risk cannot be ruled out. Therefore, this product is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.
Corticosteroids may alter the motility and number of spermatozoa in some patients.
The combination of loratadine and betamethasone is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Therefore, the use of these products in women of child-bearing age requires that the benefits of the drug be weighed against the potential for pregnancy to occur during therapy.
