Contents
Inactivated rabies vaccine (CTN-1V strain) produced in Vero cells
Indications/Uses
Induce immunity against rabies virus to prevent rabies.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Pre-exposure immunization Inj 1 dose on day 0, 7, 21, or 28, total 3 doses during complete pre-exposure immunization schedule. Bitten by a suspected rabid animal Patient had complete post-exposure immunization schedules w/in 1 yr 1 dose inj on day 0 & 3. Patient had complete post-exposure immunization scheduled 1 yr ago Complete post-exposure immunization schedule is required.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Acute disease, seriously chronic disease, acute exacerbation of chronic disease & fever. Uncontrolled epilepsy & other progressive neurological disorders.
Special Precautions
History of convulsion, chronic diseases, history of epilepsy, & allergies. Avoid alcohol, strong tea & other irritating foods & strenuous exercise. Do not administer buttock & intravascular inj. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Redness, pain, itching at the inj point. Systemic reactions, like fever, weakness, headache, dizziness, joint pain, muscle pain, vomiting, abdominal pain.
Drug Interactions
Corticosteroids or immunosuppressant interferes w/ Ab production & leads to vaccination failure.
