Hypersensitivity to alendronate or to any of the excipients listed in Description.
Abnormalities of the oesophagus and other factors which delay oesophageal emptying such as stricture or achalasia.
Inability to stand or sit upright for at least 30 minutes.
Hypocalcaemia.
