Butamirate citrate
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic treatment of dry, irritant cough of any etiology, pre- & post-op cough & whooping cough.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 2-3 tab daily at 8-12 hr intervals. Adolescent >12 yr 1-2 tab daily.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Do not take during the 1st 3 mth of pregnancy. Childn <3 yr.
Special Precautions
Caution while driving or using machines. Liver/kidney function impairment or failure. Pregnant, might become pregnant or thinking may be pregnant (from the 4th mth of pregnancy, only take if explicitly advised). Breastfeeding.
Adverse Reactions
Drowsiness, nausea, diarrhea, urticaria (itchy skin rash).
Drug Interactions
Do not co-administer w/ other cough medicines (expectorants); strong enzyme inhibitors or medicines known to have narrow therapeutic index.
