Indications/Uses
Advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women. Adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women w/ hormone receptor +ve early invasive breast cancer; early breast cancer in hormone receptor +ve postmenopausal women who have received 2-3 yr of adjuvant tamoxifen.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult including the elderly 1 tab once daily. Postmenopausal women w/ hormone receptor-+ve early invasive breast cancer Recommended duration of adjuvant treatment: 5 yr.

Overdosage

May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Special Precautions
Efficacy has not been demonstrated in treatment of advanced breast cancer in estrogen receptor -ve patients unless they had a previous +ve clinical response to tamoxifen. Not to be used in premenopausal women. Assess bone mineral density at the commencement of treatment & at regular intervals thereafter in women w/ osteoporosis or at risk of osteoporosis. No data on use w/ LHRH analogues. Avoid co-administration w/ tamoxifen or estrogen-containing therapies. Not to be taken by patients w/ galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Caution when driving or operating machinery. Caution in patients w/ moderate & severe hepatic impairment; severe renal impairment (GFR <30 mL/min). Not recommended in childn & adolescents. Not to be used in boys & girls w/ growth hormone deficiency.

Adverse Reactions
Headache; hot flushes; nausea; arthritis, osteoporosis; rash; asthenia. Anorexia, hypercholesterolaemia; somnolence, carpal tunnel syndrome; diarrhea, vomiting; bone pain; increases in alkaline phosphatase, ALT, AST; alopecia, allergic reactions; vag dryness & bleeding.
