Adult including elderly 1 mg once daily.

Overdosage

View Anastro-cell overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.

Administration

May be taken with or without food.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity. Estrogen-containing therapies & tamoxifen. Moderate or severe hepatic disease. Severe renal impairment (CrCl <20 mL/min). Premenopausal women. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions

Not to be used in childn w/ growth hormone deficiency in addition to growth hormone treatment. Women w/ osteoporosis; assessment of bone mineral density at the commencement of treatment & at regular intervals thereafter. Concomitant use w/ LH-releasing hormone analogues. Galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Not recommended for childn & adolescent.

Adverse Reactions

Headache, hot flushes, nausea, rash, joint pain/stiffness & asthenia. Anorexia, hypercholesterolemia, somnolence, carpal tunnel syndrome, diarrhea, vomiting, increase in alkaline phosphatase/ALT/AST; alopecia, allergic reaction, bone pain & vag dryness.
