For oral inhalation only. Avoid spraying in the eyes. Discontinue immediately if paradoxical bronchospasm or significant CV effects occur. Deterioration of asthma. Use of β-adrenergic agonist alone may not be adequate to control asthma, give early consideration to adding anti-inflammatory agents eg, corticosteroids, to therapeutic regimen. May produce ECG changes eg, flattening of T-wave, prolongation of QTc interval, & ST segment depression. Do not exceed recommended dose. Immediate hypersensitivity reactions. Patients w/ CV disorders, especially coronary insufficiency, HTN, & cardiac arrhythmias; convulsive disorders, hyperthyroidism, or DM; & who are unusually responsive to sympathomimetic amines. Clinically significant changes in systolic & diastolic BP after use of any β-adrenergic bronchodilator. Large doses of IV racemic salbutamol may aggravate preexisting DM & ketoacidosis. Hypokalemia. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Renal impairment. Pregnancy & lactation. Elderly.
