Description
Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg: EGb 761 (Each 266 mg tablet contains Standardised Ginkgo biloba Extract 40 mg equivalent to dry leaf 2,000 mg).
One film-coated tablet contains: Active component: EGb 761, a dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (35 - 67:1) 40 mg. EGb 761 is quantified to 24% flavone glycosides, 6% terpene lactones & less than 5 ppm ginkgolic acids as required by the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.).
Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg: EGb 761 (Each tablet contains Patented Standardised Ginkgo biloba extract 120 mg equivalent to dry leaf 6000 mg).
One film-coated tablet contains: Active ingredient: EGb 761 is a dry extract from Ginkgo biloba leaves (50:1) 120 mg. EGb 761 is standardised to 24% flavone glycosides, 6% terpene lactones & less than 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.
Indications/Uses
Traditionally used to improve blood circulation and for general well-being.
Dosage/Direction for Use
The intake of Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg and Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg is independent of meals.
FC tab: Adult: Take 1 tablet of Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg each time, 3 times daily.
Forte FC tab: For adults, the normal dosage is 1 tablet of Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg twice daily.
Contraindications
Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg and Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg should not be used by patients with known hypersensitivity to Ginkgo extracts or to any of the excipients.
Forte FC tab: Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactating women.
Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg is not recommended for use in adolescents aged from 12 to 18 years due to insufficient investigational data.
Consult a pharmacist/doctor before taking this product.
Warnings
As the use of Ginkgo may increase the tendency of bleeding, consult a physician/pharmacist if the patient is on or intends to start using any other medicines and before the patient undergoes any surgical/dental procedure.
Should the patient suffer from epileptic seizures, consult with a doctor before starting treatment. It cannot be excluded that the application of Ginkgo preparations promotes the occurrence of seizures in epileptic patients.
Patients with rare hereditary galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg or Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg.

Special Precautions
FC tab: Use in Children: Do not give this medicine to children under 18 years because there is no relevant indication for this group.
Use In Pregnancy & Lactation
FC tab: Contraindicated in pregnant women. Insufficient reliable data in breastfeeding women. It is unknown whether the extract components are excreted in human milk. Animal studies do not reveal harmful effects of Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg on fertility.
Forte FC tab: Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactating women.
Adverse Reactions
FC tab: There are no verified data on the frequency of the undesirable effects observed during treatment with Ginkgo biloba-containing preparations, since these undesirable effects have become known through single reports from patients, physicians or pharmacists. According to these reports, the following side effects may occur during treatment with Tebonin Film-Coated Tablet 40 mg: headache, bleeding from single organs, mild gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic skin reactions (reddening, swelling, itching).
Forte FC tab: In very rare cases, mild gastro-intestinal disorders, headache or allergic skin reactions (reddening, swelling, itching) have been observed following intake of Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg. There have been very rare reports of bleeding, following the consumption of Ginkgo biloba. However, correlations between Tebonin forte Tablet 120 mg and bleeding have not been proven.
Drug Interactions
FC tab: No clinically relevant interactions have become known up to now.
Forte FC tab: Specific clinical studies did not point to any interactions with acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and warfarin. However, interaction with drugs inhibiting blood coagulation cannot be excluded.
Storage
Keep in a dry place below 30°C, protect from light and moisture.
Expiry: FC tab: 2 years from the date of manufacture.
Forte FC tab: 4 years from the date of manufacture.
