Pine tar, coal tar solution, salicylic acid, triethanolamine, laureth-4, benzyl alcohol, fragrance 0/A 10920 baniadas CF, benzyl alcohol, laureth-23, lauryl betaine, disodium cocamphodiacetate, sodium laureth sulfate.

Description

Sebitar contains pine tar 1%, coal tar 1%, salicylic acid 2%. It has a pH of 6.

Action

Cleansing, antipruritic, keratolytic, anti-inflammatory. Undecylenamide has antifungal properties. Sebitar is also antibacterial to help prevent secondary infection after scratching. The base is very mild and nondrying, and contains no soap, harsh detergents, parabens, lanolin or lanolin derivatives.

Indications/Uses

Relieves itching scalp and reduces inflammation. Reduces scaling and flaking.
For relief of the symptoms of seborrhoeic dermatitis, (scaling and flaking scalp), eczema and psoriasis of the scalp.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Wet hair, apply to affected area and massage well. Apply more to remainder of the scalp, work into a lather and leave for 5 min. Rinse thoroughly with water, repeat if necessary. Use daily if needed; frequency of treatment depends on the severity of the condition.

Contraindications

Sensitivity to any of the ingredients.

Special Precautions

Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse eyes with clean water. Not recommended for use if the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not apply to acutely inflamed skin. This product may make the patient photosensitive.
