Overdosage

View Qdenga overdosage for action to be taken in the event of an overdose.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to vaccine or previous inj. Congenital or acquired immune deficiency including immunosuppressive therapies eg, chemotherapy or high-dose systemic corticosteroids (eg, prednisone 20 mg daily or 2 mg/kg daily for ≥2 wk) w/in 4 wk prior to vaccination; symptomatic or asymptomatic HIV infection. Pregnancy & lactation.

Special Precautions

Not to be inj intravascularly, intradermally or IM. Anaphylactic reaction. Postpone vaccination in patients suffering from acute severe febrile illness. Anxiety-related reactions including vasovagal reactions (syncope), hyperventilation or stress-related reactions; chronic medical conditions. Wait at least 6 wk & preferably for 3 mth after vaccination in patients receiving Ig or Ig-containing blood products eg, blood or plasma. Review of medical history; continue personal protection measures against mosquito bites after vaccination. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Women of childbearing potential should avoid pregnancy for at least 1 mth following vaccination. Childn <4 yr.

Adverse Reactions

URTI; decreased appetite; irritability; headache, somnolence; myalgia; inj site pain & erythema, malaise, asthenia, fever. Nasopharyngitis, pharyngotonsillitis; arthralgia; inj site swelling, bruising & pruritus, flu-like illness.

Drug Interactions

Neutralisation of attenuated viruses w/ Ig or Ig-containing blood products eg, blood or plasma. Not to be administered concomitantly w/ immunosuppressive therapies eg, chemotherapy or high-dose systemic corticosteroids.
