Indications and Dosage
Mouth/Throat
Aphthous ulcer, Gingivitis, Mouth infections, Oral hygiene, Sore throat
Adult: As 0.1% solution: Rinse or gargle with at least 15 mL of undiluted solution bid or tid. Do not swallow; spit out after use. Treatment recommendations may vary among countries or individual products (refer to local or specific product guidelines).
Child: As 0.1% solution: ≥12 years Same as adult dose.

Not intended to be swallowed. Children. Pregnancy and lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, ageusia, dysphagia, dysgeusia, salivary gland enlargement.
General disorders and administration site conditions: Application site reactions (e.g. irritation, inflammation, blistering, ulceration of mouth or throat, tongue or tooth discolouration, oral paraesthesia).
Immune system disorders: Hypersensitivity reactions.
Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: Cough, dyspnoea.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Angioedema.
Action
Description:
Mechanism of Action: Hexetidine is a bactericidal and fungicidal antiseptic with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts (e.g. Candida albicans), and fungi.
Duration: Retention on buccal tissues: 8 to 10 hours (after single oral rinse).
