Calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium alginate.
Each 10-mL liquid contains sodium alginate 500 mg, sodium bicarbonate 213 mg and calcium carbonate 325 mg. It also contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate 40 mg and propyl parahydroxybenzoate 6 mg as preservatives.
Gaviscon Double Action is sugar- and gluten-free.
Gaviscon Double Action Liquid brings relief from the pain and discomfort of heartburn and acid indigestion. It gets to work in two different ways: neutralising excess stomach acid to relieve pain and discomfort; forming a protective barrier over the stomach contents to soothe the burning pain in the chest.
For oral use. Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12 years: Take 10-20ml (Two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day. Children under 12 years: Not to be given unless recommended by the doctor.
Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of Gaviscon Double Action as difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred very rarely.
Before taking this product: Each 20ml dose contains 11.06 mmol sodium and 6.5 mmol calcium. If the patient have been advised a diet restricted in any of these please ask the doctor before taking this product. Do not take if the patient know he/she is allergic to any of the ingredients as very rarely difficulty in breathing and skin rashes have occurred. Contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Consult the doctor if the patient experience these or any other side effects.
After taking this product: If symptoms persist after 7 days consult the doctor. If the patient take too much of this product the patient may feel bloated, consult the doctor or pharmacist.
If a dose is missed, it is not necessary to double the dose next time, continue medication as prescribed.
Gaviscon Double Action can be taken by pregnant or lactating women.
Do not store above 30°C. Store in the original package. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Use within 6 months of opening.
