Patient Medicine Information
Why do I need this medicine?
Flumetasone and Clioquinol are combined in this medicine.

Flumetasone + Clioquinol is used to treat inflammation of the external ear where an infection is suspected to be present.

Flumetasone is a moderately potent steroid. It helps relieve swelling, redness, and itching of the external ear. Clioquinol is an antibiotic and antifungal medicine that is used to treat bacterial or fungal infections.
How do I use this medicine?
Instil Flumetasone + Clioquinol ear drop solution into the affected ear(s) exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.

To use the ear drop solution, follow these steps:
  1. Wash your hands with soap and water.
  2. Tilt your head or lie down on your side.
  3. Gently pull your upper ear up and back. Insert the nozzle into the affected ear and instil the required number of drops.
  4. Keep your head tilted or remain lying down for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Replace and tighten the cap of the bottle.
  6. Wash your hands after.
Do not allow the tip of the dropper of this medicine to touch your fingers, ears or any other surface. Recap the ear drop immediately after use. If the ear drop becomes contaminated, it could cause an infection in your ears.

Avoid contact with your eyes. Rinse immediately with water if this medicine gets into your eyes. Alert your doctor if you start to have any problems with your eyes.

Do not share your ear drops with anyone else.

The dose of Flumetasone + Clioquinol will be decided by your doctor. Your doctor will advise you on the treatment timeframe depending on the severity of your condition and your response to the medication.

Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or if it worsens during treatment.

Use this medicine at regular intervals. Do not skip any doses. You must complete the entire course of Flumetasone + Clioquinol. If you don't, the infection will not be properly controlled.
