Petrolatum, zinc oxide, lanolin, menthol.
Description
Each gram contains: Petrolatum 24%, zinc oxide 20.6%, lanolin 15.7%, menthol 0.44%.
Calmoseptine Ointment has a smooth, thick, light pink appearance and a menthol smell.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Chlorothymol, glycerin, phenol, sodium bicarbonate, and thymol in a suitable ointment base.
Action
The ointment works as a moisture barrier and skin protectant.
Indications/Uses
The ointment is used to temporarily protect irritated areas, temporary relief of local itching and discomfort in the perianal area, and for temporary relief of pain or burning and skin irritations.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Before starting to use it: Cleanse the affected area with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Gently pat or air dry before application of this product.
How much to use: Adult: Apply externally to the affected area up to 6 times daily.
Children under 12 years of age: Consult a doctor before use.
When to use it: Use up to 6 times daily, or after each bowel movement.
How long to use it: Apply until symptoms resolve. If the condition does not improve within 7 days, seek doctor's attention.
If the patient forgets to use it: Apply as necessary when it is required.
Overdosage
If the patient used too much (overdose): In case of accidental ingestion, call Poison Control Center immediately.
Contraindications
When the product can't be used: If the patient experiences any allergy to the ingredients listed.
Special Precautions
While using it: Things patient must do: When practical, cleanse the affected area with mild soap and warm water and rinse thoroughly. Gently pat dry or air dry before application of this product. Apply externally to the affected area up to 6 times daily or after each bowel movement.
Things patient must not do: Do not put this product in the rectum.
Things to be careful of: Could cause burning sensation to patients with sensitivity to Menthol.
Stop use and ask a doctor if: condition worsens or does not improve within 7 days; bleeding occurs; symptom being treated does not subside; redness, irritation, swelling, pain or other symptoms develop; an allergic reaction develops.
Side Effects
Could cause burning sensation to patients with sensitivity to Menthol.
Patient may report any side effects or adverse drug reactions directly to the National Centre for Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring by visiting the website npra.gov.my [Consumers → Reporting Side Effects to Medicines (ConSERF) or Vaccines (AEFI)].
Drug Interactions
Taking other medicines: No known interactions with other medicines.
Caution For Usage
Disposal: Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask a pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

Store between 15‐30°C (59‐86°F).
