Treatment & prevention of skin infections in wounds eg, ulcers, burns, cuts, abrasions & other minor injuries.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn ≥2 yr Spray from 6-10 inches onto affected areas several times daily, every 3-4 hr. Thin layer of dust will be formed, cover w/ dressing if necessary.

Overdosage

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity. Thyroid problem. Patients to receive or are currently receiving radioactive iodine therapy; use of Hg-containing products eg, thiomersal. Childn <1 yr.

Special Precautions

Allergic reaction or skin irritation. Discontinue use if local irritation or sensitivity occurs. Not to be used on thin lining membrane covering organ w/in cavity. Patients received radioactive iodine treatments w/in last 4 wk & using before any diagnostic test. May interfere w/ thyroid function tests; monitor thyroid function if necessary. Not to be used concomitantly w/ Hg-, enzymatic component-, hydrogen peroxide-, silver-, octenidine-, taurolidine-containing products; alkali, tannic acid, ASA, bismuth salts. Avoid contact w/ eyes & application to large areas of broken skin; detergent-containing soln if treating open wounds. Not for prolonged use. Renal failure. Not recommended during pregnancy & lactation. Childn 1-2 yr.

Skin irritation, discolouration, redness, swelling, small blisters, itching or dryness, tiredness, weakness, confusion, rapid shallow breathing, passing little or no urine, fluid retention, swelling of legs, ankle & feet.
