Chronic skin wounds are often coated with slough, necrotic tissue and/or biofilm. These coatings are difficult to remove and lead to delayed wound healing. ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution is able to remove these barriers to wound healing through its cleansing activity. Acute wounds also require proper cleansing as they are generally contaminated with debris and microorganisms. These contaminants can interfere with the normal wound healing process and lead to complications such as infection. Due to the antimicrobial agent (hypochlorous acid) as the main ingredient, ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution is ideal for preventing the biofilm formation at the wound bed.
Tissue tolerability and biocompatibility: Dermatologically tested and evaluated as non-irritating and well-tolerated; painless; no inhibition of granulation.
The Antaviro Wound Care is intended for aiding the removal of debris including microorganisms and foreign materials from the wound bed or application site with or without the assistance of a suitable wound dressing such as gauze.
Areas For Use: For cleansing, irrigation and moistening of: Acute wounds (infected and non-infected): Traumatic wounds e.g., lacerations, bites, cuts, postoperative wounds.
Chronic wounds (infected and non-infected): Pressure ulcers, stasis ulcers, diabetic ulcers, etc.
Thermal & chemical wound: 1st and 2nd degree burns, chemical burns.
Abscesses and fistulas.
For moistening encrusted bandages and dressings prior to removal.
General use: ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution may be used to saturate compresses, gauzes or pads for cleansing as needed. Wound dressings and bandages are often encrusted and attached to the wound surface in which the removal of these dressings may traumatize the wound bed and delays the healing process. In these cases, soaking the dressing with ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution is recommended until they can be removed. The application of this wound care solution should be conducted frequently to achieve and maintain a visually clean wound.
Wound cleansing: The entire wound area should be thoroughly cleansed with ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution. For non-severe and acute wounds, rinsing is sufficient. For large wounds and difficult to access, it is recommended to soak the dressings or compresses with ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution for at least 15 minutes.
ANTAVIRO Wound Care solution shall not be used in the eyes; if the patient is suspected to be allergic to any of the ingredients; in combination with cleansing soap, ointments, etc.
