Indications/Uses
Dosage/Direction for Use
Administration
Should be taken with food: Dissolve in a glass of water then drink.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to chondroitin sulphate, glucosamine sulphate or shellfish. Fructose intolerance.
Special Precautions
Not for treatment of acute painful symptoms. Cardiac insufficiency; edema & water retention; impaired glucose tolerance. May cause allergic reactions due to sunset yellow (E110). Patients on controlled Na diet. Concomitant use w/ coumarin anticoagulants eg, warfarin; platelet anti-aggregant drugs eg, ASA, dipyridamole, clopidogrel, ditazole, triflusal, ticlopidine; tetracyclines. May affect ability to drive or use machines. Renal & severe hepatic insufficiency. Avoid use during pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Peripheral oedema, tachycardia; cutaneous rash, erythema, pruritus, contact dermatitis, papular rash, urticaria, eczema, hair loss, allergic reaction, visual disturbances, oedema.
Drug Interactions
Increased effect of cumarinic anticoagulants eg, warfarin. Increased GI absorption of tetracyclines. Caution w/ platelet anti-aggregant drugs eg, ASA, dipyridamole, clopidogrel, ditazole, triflusal, ticlopidine.
