Triamcinolone acetonide helps relieve constant runny nose, sneezing and itching associated with allergic rhinitis.
Use Triamcinolone acetonide exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not use more or less than instructed by your doctor.
If you are using Triamcinolone acetonide nasal spray for the first time, remove the cap and press the pump a few times until you produce an even spray. If you have not used the spray for 14 or more days, press the pump a few times or more to get an even spray before using it.
To use the nasal spray, follow these steps:
- Blow your nose gently to clean your nostrils before using the spray.
- Shake the bottle gently.
- Close one nostril with your finger. Hold the pump straight and upright, placing the nozzle into the other nostril.
- Spray into the nostril and breathe in gently. Breathe out through your mouth.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 to administer another dose in the same nostril and for the other nostril, as necessary.
- After each use, wipe and cap the nasal spray.
Make sure you know how to use your nasal spray. If you have problems or do not understand the instructions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not share your nasal spray with others as it could spread infection.
Administer the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
If you often forget to use your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- untreated infection of the nose or throat
- have had a recent nose operation, injury, or ulcer
- cataract (clouding of the lens of the eye)
- glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Triamcinolone acetonide may cause any of the following side effects: nosebleeds, discomfort or irritation of the nasal passage, runny nose, headache, sore throat, and cough.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Inform your doctor if you are taking certain medicines for HIV e.g. ritonavir, cobicistat.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking or using any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
The nasal spray should be used within 30 days (for the 30-spray pack) and 60 days (for the 60-spray pack) after first opening.
