Tramadol HCl

Indications/Uses

Treatment & prevention of severe acute & chronic pain, post-op pain & pain resulting from diagnostic measures.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Adult & childn >14 yr 1 amp IV, IM or SC. Up to 6 amp daily.

Contraindications

Acute intoxication w/ alcohol, hypnotics, analgesics, opioids or psychotropics. Concomitant use w/ MAOI.

Special Precautions

Head injury, increased ICP, severe renal & hepatic functions impairment. Resp disorder, patients prone to convulsion disorders or in shock. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Pregnancy & lactation.

Adverse Reactions

Nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, obstipation, fatigue, sedation, dizziness, pruritus, sweating, flushing, dry mouth, headache. Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) & reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) w/ symptoms eg, sudden severe headache, nausea, vomiting, confusion, seizures &/or visual disturbances.
