Not indicated for the maintenance treatment of melasma. Hyperpigmentation conditions other than melasma of the face. Avoid sunlight/UV light exposure. Use sunscreen of SPF ≥30. Wear protective clothing. Change to non-hormonal forms of birth control, if hormonal methods are used. Anaphylactic symptoms & life-threatening asthmatic episodes in susceptible people. Exogenous ochronosis in Black, Caucasians & Hispanics. Patients w/ skin types V & VI. Avoid contact w/ eyes, nose, or angles of the mouth. Carcinogenicity, mutagenicity & impairment of fertility. Pregnancy & lactation.
Avoid medicated or abrasive soaps & cleansers, soaps & cosmetics w/ drying effects, products w/ high conc of alcohol & astringent. Medications known to be photosensitizing.
