Sucralfate
Indications/Uses
Duodenal & gastric ulcer.
Dosage/Direction for Use
10 mL 4 times daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before meals & at bedtime.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ chronic kidney failure & those undergoing dialysis. May administer antacids ½ hr before & after medication. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Adverse Reactions
Constipation, dry mouth, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, flatulence, pruritus, rash, drowsiness, dizziness, back pain, headache.
Drug Interactions
May reduce the absorption or bioavailability of cimetidine, ciprofloxacin, digoxin, ketoconazole, norfloxacin, phenytoin, ranitidine, tetracycline & theophylline.
