Per 25/50 mcg MDI Salmeterol xinafoate 25 mcg, fluticasone propionate 50 mcg

Indications/Uses

Regular treatment of reversible obstructive airway disease (ROAD) including asthma & COPD including bronchitis & emphysema.

Dosage/Direction for Use

ROAD Adult, adolescent ≥12 yr, & childn ≥4 yr 2 inhalations of 25/50 mcg twice daily. COPD Adult 2 inhalations of 25/50 mcg twice daily.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity.

Special Precautions

Not for acute symptomatic relief of asthma. Pulmonary TB, severe CV disorders, DM, untreated hypokalemia, thyrotoxicosis. Pregnancy & lactation. Regular monitoring of growth rate in childn on prolonged treatment.

Adverse Reactions

Hoarseness/dysphonia; headache; mouth & throat candidiasis; arthralgia; muscle cramps.

Drug Interactions

Concomitant use w/ non-selective & selective β-blockers; CYP450 inhibitors (eg, ritonavir, erythromycin, ketoconazole). MAOIs, TCAs, levodopa, l-thyroxine, oxytocin, antiarrhythmics; xanthines.
