Oral: Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain eg, musculoskeletal & post-op pain, dysmenorrhea, toothache.Inj: Symptomatic treatment of acute pain when PO is not possible.
Dosage/Direction for Use
FC tabAdult Usual dose: 12.5 mg 4-6 hrly or 25 mg 8 hrly. Post-op pain 5 mg 8 hrly. Max total dose: 75 mg daily. Inj 50 mg slow IM/bolus IV 8-12 hrly. Max total dose: 150 mg daily.
Administration
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 30 min before meals, especially for quick relief of acute pain.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivty to NSAIDs. History of asthma attack, bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, acute rhinitis, nasal polyp, urticaria or angioneurotic edema triggered by aspirin or other NSAIDs. History or existing gastric ulcer (acute or suspect) or chronic dyspepsia, gastric bleeding or other active bleeding. Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, severe heart failure, moderate to severe kidney dysfunction (CrCl <50 mL/min), severe impaired liver function (Child-Pugh score 10-15). Diathesis hemorrhage, other coagulation disorders, or receiving anticoagulant therapy. Neuraxial (intrathecal or epidural) administration related w/ alcohol. Pregnancy & lactation.
Special Precautions
History of drug allergy, bronchial asthma, esophagitis, gastritis & peptic ulcer. Discontinue if GI bleeding or ulcer occurs. Inhibit platelet aggregation & prolong bleeding time. Drugs which affect haemostasis, Diuretic therapy; hypovolemia. Impaired liver, kidney or cardiac function or other conditions which may cause fluid retention. Childn. Elderly.
