Contents
Zinc oxide, levomenthol, bismuth subgallate.
Description
Each 100g contains: Zinc Oxide Ph. Eur. 8g, Levomenthol Ph. Eur. 1g, Bismuth Subgallate Ph. Eur. 2g.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate, Hard Paraffin, Polyoxyethylene-12-cetyl stearyl alcohol, Glycerol-mono-dioleate, Glycerol, Wool fat, Nipastat (ethyl hydroxybenzoate (E214), methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216) and butyl hydroxybenzoate).
Indications/Uses
Rowatanal Cream is used to relieve the intense itching and burning sensation associated with haemorrhoids.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adults only: Wash the affected area thoroughly and dry carefully with a very soft towel. Apply Rowatanal Cream to the affected area 2-3 times daily and after each bowel movement until the condition is controlled.
For internal haemorrhoids use the applicator nozzle provided. Lubricate the applicator nozzle before each application and clean thoroughly after use with a hot solution of detergent.
Continue treatment for a few days after the initial signs of improvement.
Rowatanal cream is for rectal use only and should not be taken by mouth.
Contraindications
The patient should not use Rowatanal Cream if he/she is allergic to any of the ingredients.
Special Precautions
The patient should consult the doctor before using Rowatanal Cream if the piles are bleeding or have been present for some time. If the condition persists or worsens the patient should also consult the doctor.
Do not share this medicine to others for use.
Side Effects
Side effects have been reported rarely with use of this and similar products. Side effects include a transient cooling sensation on application of the cream. Sensitivity reactions have rarely been reported.
If the patient experiences these or any other undesirable effects, tell the doctor immediately.
Storage
Rowatanal Cream should be stored below 25°C. Always replace the cap of the tube after use.
