Ritalin: Ritalin 10 contain methylphenidate hydrochloride 10 mg.
Ritalin LA: Ritalin LA modified release capsules contain 10 mg, 20 mg or 30 mg of methylphenidate hydrochloride.
Methylphenidate hydrochloride is methyl (R*, R*)-(±)-α-phenyl-2-piperidine acetate hydrochloride; or 2-Piperidineacetic acid, α-phenyl-, methyl ester, hydrochloride; or Methyl α-phenyl-2-piperidineacetate hydrochloride.
It has a molecular formula of C14H19NO2·HCl; and a molecular weight of 269.8.
Excipients/Inactive Ingredients: Ritalin: Lactose, calcium phosphate, gelatin, magnesium stearate, purified talc and wheat starch.
Ritalin LA: Sugar spheres, polyethylene glycol 6000, ammonio methacrylate copolymer type B, methacrylic acid copolymer type A, talc, triethyl citrate, gelatin, titanium dioxide, black iron oxide (10 mg capsule only), red iron oxide (10 mg capsule only) and yellow iron oxide (10 and 30 mg capsules only).
