Per 0.5 mL dose Measles virus Enders' Edmonston strain (live, attenuated) not less than 3 log₁₀ TCID₅₀, mumps virus Jeryl Lynn (level B) strain (live, attenuated) not less than 4.3 log₁₀ TCID₅₀, rubella virus Wistar RA 27/3 strain (live, attenuated) not less than 3 log₁₀ TCID₅₀, varicella virus Oka/Merck strain (live, attenuated) not less than 3.99 log₁₀ PFU

Simultaneous vaccination against MMR & varicella in individuals from 12 mth of age. Can be administered to individuals from 9 mth of age under special circumstances.

IM/SC Individual ≥12 mth 2 doses of ProQuad or a single dose followed by a 2nd dose of monovalent varicella vaccine. At least 1 mth must elapse between the 1st & 2nd dose of any live viral attenuated vaccine. Administer 2nd dose preferably w/in 3 mth following the 1st dose, 9-12 mth Administer 2nd dose of ProQuad after a min interval of 3 mth following the 1st dose.

Hypersensitivity to any varicella or MMR vaccine, or to neomycin. Blood dyscrasias, leukaemia, lymphomas of any type, or other malignant neoplasms affecting the haematopoietic & lymphatic system. Current immunosuppressive therapy (including high doses of corticosteroids). Severe humoral or cellular (primary or acquired) immunodeficiency. Severely immunocompromised individuals. Family history of congenital or hereditary immunodeficiency. Active untreated TB. Postpone vaccination during any illness w/ fever >38.5°C. Pregnancy. Avoid pregnancy for 1 mth following vaccination.

Do not inj intravascularly. History of anaphylactic, anaphylactoid, or other immediate reactions subsequent to egg ingestion. Individual or family history of convulsions, or a history of cerebral injury. Be alert to temp elevation that may occur following vaccination. Potential transmission of rubella & varicella vaccine virus. Avoid close association w/ high-risk individuals susceptible to varicella for up to 6 wk following vaccination. Administer SC to individuals w/ thrombocytopenia or any coagulation disorder because bleeding may occur following IM administration. Risk of thrombocytopenia; febrile seizures. Carefully monitor immunocompromised patients who have no contraindication for this vaccination for signs of measles, parotitis, rubella & varicella. Temporary depression of tuberculin skin sensitivity. Contains sorbitol. Women who intend to become pregnant should delay pregnancy. Lactation. Infants <12 mth may fail to respond to vaccine. Not indicated in infants <9 mth.

Fever, inj site erythema or pain/tenderness/soreness. Irritability; diarrhoea, vomiting; rash (including measles-like rash, varicella-like rash, & inj site rash); inj site ecchymosis or swelling.

At least 1 mth should elapse between receipt of any live virus vaccine & ProQuad. Avoid use of salicylates for 6 wk after vaccination. Potentially reduced immune response w/ Ig (eg, varicella zoster immune globulin) or varicella zoster virus Ab-containing blood products.
