Adults: pms-SUMATRIPTAN (sumatriptan succinate) is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura.
pms-SUMATRIPTAN is not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the management of hemiplegic, basilar, or ophthalmoplegic migraine (see Contraindications). Safety and efficacy have not been established for cluster headache, which is present in an older, predominantly male population.
Pediatrics (< 18 years of age): The safety and efficacy of sumatriptan succinate in children have not been established and its use in this age group is not recommended. (See Use in Children under Precautions.)
Geriatrics (> 65 years of age): Experience of the use of sumatriptan succinate in patients aged over 65 years is limited. Therefore the use of pms-SUMATRIPTAN in patients over 65 years is not recommended. (See Use in the Elderly under Precautions.)
