pms-LORAZEPAM (lorazepam tablets) is indicated for: the short-term relief of manifestations of excessive anxiety in patients with anxiety neurosis; an adjunct for the relief of excessive anxiety that might be present prior to surgical interventions.
Anxiety and tension associated with the stresses of everyday life usually do not require treatment with anxiolytic drugs.
Pediatrics: Pediatrics (< 18 years of age): No data are available to Health Canada; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use.
Geriatrics: Evidence from clinical studies and experience suggests that use in the geriatric population is associated with differences in safety or effectiveness.
Long-term use of pms-LORAZEPAM should be avoided in geriatric patients. Enhanced monitoring is recommended (see Neurologic: Falls and Fractures under Precautions; Dosing Considerations under Dosage & Administration).
