The Mona Lisa CuT 380A Intrauterine Device (IUD) is made of polyethylene and barium sulphate. Copper wire is wound around the vertical arm. There are two additional copper sleeves integrated into the hori­zontal arms and moved to the maximum position on the tip of the arms. The copper surface is 380 mm².

The polyethylene frame and the wire are radio-opaque.
