Lomac (Omeprazole) is a substituted benzimidazole with potent inhibitory action on gastric acid secretion. Chemically it is 5-methoxy-2-(4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethyl 2-pyridyl methylsulphinyl) benzimidazole.
