Isotretinoin is contraindicated in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding (see Use in Pregnancy & Lactation).
Isotretinoin is contraindicated in women of childbearing potential unless all of the conditions of the Pregnancy Prevention Programme are met (see Precautions).
Isotretinoin is also contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to isotretinoin or to any of the excipients listed in Description. DERMAVAX contains refined soya-bean oil, partially hydrogenated soya-bean oil, and hydrogenated soya-bean oil. Therefore, DERMAVAX is contraindicated in patients allergic to peanut or soya.
Isotretinoin is also contraindicated in patients: With hepatic insufficiency; With excessively elevated blood lipid values; With hypervitaminosis A; Receiving concomitant treatment with tetracyclines (see Interactions).
