Indications/Uses
Vertigo (w/ nausea/vomiting), hearing loss & tinnitus associated w/ Ménière's syndrome. Symptomatic treatment of vestibular vertigo.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult 24-48 mg divided over the day.
Administration
Should be taken with food: Swallow whole w/ liqd.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Patients w/ phaeochromocytoma.
Special Precautions
Carefully monitor patients w/ bronchial asthma or history of peptic ulcer while taking Betaserc. No specific clinical studies for patients w/ renal or hepatic insufficiency. Should not be taken during pregnancy & while nursing unless deemed clearly necessary. Not recommended for treatment of childn & adolescents ≤18 yr. Use w/ caution in the elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Drug Interactions
Increased exposure w/ MAOIs, including MAO subtype B (eg, selegiline). May affect the efficacy of antihistamines.
