Adult: For the symptomatic relief of congestion associated with sinusitis, perennial, and allergic rhinitis (including hay fever): As 0.1% nasal drops: Instil 2-3 drops into each nostril up to 3 times daily. As 0.1% nasal spray: 1 spray into each nostril up to 3 times daily. Max treatment duration: 7 days. Dosage recommendations may vary among countries and between individual products (refer to specific product guidelines). Child: 6-11 years As 0.05% nasal drops: Instil 1-2 drops into each nostril 1-2 times daily. Max treatment duration: 5 days; ≥12 years As 0.1% nasal drops or spray: Same as adult dose. Narrow-angle glaucoma, atrophic rhinitis or rhinitis sicca, transsphenoidal hypophysectomy or surgery exposing the dura mater. Children <6 years. Concomitant use or within 2 weeks of discontinuing MAOIs.
Thận trọng
Patient with CV disease, hypertension, long QT syndrome, diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease (e.g. hyperthyroidism), prostatic hyperplasia, genitourinary obstruction, phaeochromocytoma. Concurrent use with TCAs or tetracyclic antidepressants. Children ≥6 years. Pregnancy and lactation.

Significant: Rebound nasal congestion (due to frequent, excessive, or prolonged use) and/or atrophy of the nasal mucosa. Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea. General disorders and administration site conditions: Application site burning. Nervous system disorders: Headache. Respiratory, thoracic and mediastinal disorders: Epistaxis, nasal dryness or discomfort.

Quá liều
Symptoms: Severe dizziness, headache, perspiration, severely lowered body temperature, bradycardia, hypertension (may be followed by hypotension), convulsions, respiratory depression, and coma. Management: Symptomatic and supportive treatment.

May result in blood pressure elevation when used concomitantly with MAOIs and TCAs.

Description: Mechanism of Action: Xylometazoline is a direct-acting sympathomimetic agent. It causes vasoconstriction in the nasal blood vessels, thus leading to the decongestion of the nasal mucosa and neighbouring regions of the pharynx. Onset: Local vasoconstriction: Within 2 minutes. Duration: Up to 12 hours.
