Adult: In cases where oozing blood and minor bleeding from capillaries and small venules is accessible and control of bleeding by standard surgical techniques (e.g. cautery, suture, ligature) is ineffective or impractical: As human-derived or recombinant solution: Apply directly or in conjunction with absorbable gelatine sponge onto the bleeding site. Dose depends on the size of the bleeding area. As bovine-derived solution: Apply 1,000-2,000 international units/mL for profuse bleeding or 100 international units/mL for bleeding from skin or mucosal surfaces. As bovine-derived powder: Apply directly onto the bleeding sites. Dosing recommendations and methods of application may vary among individual products (refer to specific product guidelines).
