Description:
Mechanism of Action: Luliconazole is an imidazole antifungal. The exact mechanism of action against dermatophytes is unknown; however, it appears to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, a constituent of fungal cell membranes, by inhibiting the enzyme lanosterol demethylase, resulting in reduced amounts of ergosterol and a corresponding accumulation of lanosterol.
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorption: Absorbed in small amounts following topical application.
Distribution: Plasma protein binding: >99%.
