Chỉ định và Liều dùng
Parenteral
Marker dye in urological procedures
Adult: 40 mg preferably via slow IV inj. May also be given via IM inj.
Chống chỉ định
Uncontrolled heart failure, history of allergic reactions, haemodynamic instability.
Thận trọng
Patient with heart rate and conduction disorders, hypertension, coronary disorders. Pregnancy and lactation.
Tác dụng không mong muốn
Significant: Idiosyncratic reactions (e.g. rash, pruritus bronchoconstriction), paradoxical pressor effects.
Cardiac disorders: Bradycardia.
Gastrointestinal disorders: Nausea, vomiting.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders: Skin discoloration (large doses in children and underweight patients).
Vascular disorders: Hypertension.

Quá liều
Symptoms: Hypertensive crisis and severe bradycardia. Management: May administer peripheral vasodilators.

Mechanism of Action: Indigo carmine is a marker dye which retains its blue colour during passage through the body. It is used in the test of renal function.arker

Excretion: Via urine. Elimination half-life: 4-5 minutes (IV).
