Vivir: Side Effects & Dosing

Indications/Uses

Herpes simplex & herpes zoster, viral infections of the skin & mucous membranes including initial & recurrent herpes genitalis & herpes labialis.

Dosage/Direction for Use

Herpes simplex 200-400 mg 5 times daily for 5 days. Herpes zoster 800 mg 5 times daily for 7 days.

Administration

May be taken with or without food: May be taken w/ meals to reduce GI discomfort.

Special Precautions

Renal impairment.

Adverse Reactions

Skin rashes, GI effects, hematological & encephalopathic changes.
