Indications/Uses
Hunter syndrome (mucopolysaccharidosis II).
Dosage/Direction for Use
IV infusion 0.5 mg/kg every wk over a period of 1-3 hr. Max: 8 hr. Infusion rate: 8 mL/hr for the 1st 15 min, increase by 8 mL/hr increments at 15 min intervals. Max: 100 mL/hr.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use immediately if anaphylactic or other acute reactions occur. Patients w/ compromised resp function or acute resp illness; susceptible to fluid overload or w/ acute underlying resp illness or compromised cardiac &/or resp function for whom fluid restriction is indicated. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <16 mth. Elderly ≥65 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity reactions including rash, urticaria, pruritus, flushing, pyrexia & headache, hypoxic episodes; diarrhea; musculoskeletal pain, headache; cough; pruritus, urticaria.
