Acute & chronic pain (pain related to minor dental procedures, gynecological surgery, primary dysmenorrhea). Symptomatic relief of OA, RA, ankylosing spondylitis; pain & inflammation associated w/ gouty arthritis.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Acute pain 90 or 120 mg/day. Chronic pain 60 mg/day. OA 30 or 60 mg/day. RA & ankylosing spondylitis 60 or 90 mg/day. Gouty arthritis 120 mg/day. Mild hepatic impairment 60 mg/day. Moderate hepatic impairment Max: 30 mg once daily or 60 mg every other day.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. CHF (NYHA II-IV), ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial &/or cerebrovascular disease (including recent CABG surgery or angioplasty). Active peptic ulceration or GI bleeding, severe hepatic dysfunction; estimated CrCl <30 mL/min. History of allergic-type reaction to aspirin or other NSAIDs (eg, asthma, acute rhinitis, nasal polyps, angioneurotic oedema or urticaria). Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <16 yr.
Special Precautions
Lowest effective dose for shortest duration of time to reduce serious GI & CV events. Increased risk for thrombotic events & GI ulceration or other GI complications. Mild to moderate hepatic impairment.
