Per actuation Azelastine HCl 137 mcg, fluticasone propionate 50 mcg
Indications/Uses
Symptomatic relief of moderate to severe seasonal allergic rhinitis in adult & childn >6 yr & perennial allergic rhinitis in adult & childn >12 yr if use of either intranasal antihistamine or corticosteroid alone is not sufficient.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Adult & adolescent (childn ≥6 yr) 1 spray into each nostril in the morning & evening.
Contraindications
Special Precautions
Patients w/ untreated TB or bacterial, fungal & viral infection. History of increased ocular pressure, glaucoma &/or cataracts. Avoid contact w/ eyes. May cause nasal mucosa irritation & bronchospasm due to benzalkonium Cl content. May enhance dizziness or drowsiness w/ alcohol or other CNS depressants. Minor influence on ability to drive or use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Not recommended for childn <6 yr. May cause slow growth in childn & adolescents w/ prolonged use.
Adverse Reactions
Azelastine HCl: Bitter taste, somnolence. Fluticasone propionate: Mild or transient burning, dryness, irritation inside the nose.
Drug Interactions
Fluticasone propionate plasma conc affected by strong CYP3A4 inhibitors eg, ritonavir, ketoconazole.
