Indications/Uses
Long-term enzyme replacement therapy for ped & adult w/ a confirmed diagnosis of non-neuronopathic (type 1) or chronic neuronopathic (type 3) Gaucher disease & exhibit anemia, thrombocytopenia, bone disease, hepatomegaly or splenomegaly.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Individualised dosage. Initially 2.5 U/kg body wt 3 times a wk to 60 U/kg once every 2 wk by IV infusion over 1-2 hr.
Special Precautions
Resp symptoms in the absence of fever, pulmonary HTN; previous Ceredase therapy. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn <2 yr.
Adverse Reactions
Pruritus, inj site reactions, flushing, urticaria, angioedema, chest discomfort, dyspnea, coughing, cyanosis, hypotension, nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, fatigue, headache, fever, dizziness, chills, back ache & tachycardia.
